The songs, 2026–27
Eighteen original songs, released one at a time like chapters in a novel, with a new one every five or six weeks.
- Oct 23Co-written at Rhuba Camp in 2025 with Bella Novak, Alan Haksten, Walter Skoogh and Tom Mårtensson, from the prompt "you can't find any matching socks". Summery pop with trumpet, accordion and a pre-chorus in Spanish.
- Sep 11Written live in a one-hour TikTok session, one of almost forty songs I wrote that way. A happy-go-lucky folk-pop tune about being an outsider.
- Jul 24A folk ballad inspired by my own long-distance relationship with my wife. It began in 1991, across the Baltic Sea, in the days of letters.
- Jun 19Written around 2011. A slow, ominous song about two people who want to break free and live off the land, away from the mainstream, while building cities deep within.
- May 15Written around 2010. A song about being set free. When a real falconer heard it, he was moved and said it really happens: sometimes they let their birds go.
- Apr 24Written in 2015 in London, on a house concert tour through Ireland and the UK. A midtempo groove about autumn, leaves letting go and how little we really know.
- Apr 3The English version of Videung, written with Elsa Fahlén. A song for a child who never came. The Swedish original has been sung at a child's funeral.
- Mar 13A devil on one shoulder, an angel at my back, and a heart that finds it hard to let the loving start. If nobody is listening, I say it anyway.
- Feb 20Hands that heal and hands that hurt, in the same person. A song about knowing your own contradictions, written with Fia Ekberg. Slow, cinematic folk.
- Jan 30A violin hangs on my wall and I am too scared to play it, because it would take me into a world where every love song is true. Sounds like Tom Jobim meets Burt Bacharach in a bar, and Paddy McAloon joins in the conversation.
- Jan 9About my father and the green shirt he left behind. A man who loved bebop, Bach and the Beatles, held the shadows back with a joke and passed on both the joy and the pain.

About Patrick
I have been a songwriter for over thirty years and made music my full-time work since my twenties. I have written and produced for indie artists, stage, radio, film and games, and co-written several stage musicals.
These days I write for people who want to let love in but are still figuring out what they're running from. I have been torn and restored myself, and I believe life can be mended.
My story
I started writing songs as a teenager and went on to study music in Gothenburg. Since then I have moved between worlds: the vocal ensemble Amanda, the Burt Bacharach tribute show The Missing Fortnight, two solo albums, a duo record with the pianist Anders Persson, and the trio True North, which toured California, Sweden, Denmark and Germany.
Songwriting retreats, from Samsø and Ireland to Iceland and California, led to co-writes and bands across Europe and the US. Today I write and produce for others, make music for stage, and release eighteen new songs, one at a time.

A patch of things I didn't quite know what to do with, and that grew anyway: old songs, a few stories and a kitchen full of dandelions. Both are free when you join the list.

Ways to work together
I produce songs for artists and songwriters, online or in person. I sing and play keys, guitar, bass, drums and a bit of trumpet myself, so a production can be as small as a voice and a guitar or as full as a band.
Songwriting and production
Writing and producing for other artists, from first sketch to finished production.
As small or as big as the song needs. I can do a lot on my own, and many songs only need that. When a song wants more, I know good studios in Gothenburg where we can record live. I can put together a band for a session, or bring in extra musicians and strings, with string arrangements and recording. The bigger the production, the higher the price, and every song is different, so I quote each one separately.
Songs for special occasions
A song written for one person and one moment: a wedding, a birthday, a company kick-off or a gift. Every song is written by me, from the stories and details you send about the person or the company. The more I get, the closer the song gets.
I also sing at ceremonies (weddings, christenings, funerals and so on). We choose the repertoire together.

How a production works
Send me your song
A demo, a voice memo or just the idea, plus a reference or two.
We talk
A call, or a coffee if you are near Gothenburg, about where the song wants to go.
Book your slot
A 300 € deposit confirms the booking. You pay it by PayPal, and it counts toward the total.
I produce it
Arranging, recording and playing, remotely or in my studio outside Gothenburg.
The finished mix
I mix the song and we listen together, adjusting until it feels right. Up to three rounds of revisions are included. I can master it too, though a separate mastering engineer is often the best choice.
Book a production
Start with an email and tell me about the song, and I will send you a quote. Once we have agreed, the 300 € deposit confirms your slot. Production work is quoted excluding VAT. Swedish VAT is added for customers in Sweden, and businesses in other EU countries with a valid VAT number are invoiced without it.

House concerts
My stories, my songs, just me and the audience. I come to your home, or to any room with a good atmosphere, and play an evening for a small, close crowd: the songs and the stories behind them. Mostly in Sweden, but I play abroad too, and I have played in Germany and Denmark, among other places.

- 4,000 SEK (about 350 €), and everything above goes to me

- A full evening of songs and stories
How it works: entry is free or a suggested donation of around 250 SEK (about 20 €), collected by the host via Swish, or another payment app outside Sweden, and passed on to me. Invite twice as many as you hope for, since about half usually come, and say a few words about the donation after the show. A good room and a wide circle of friends can make the evening go far beyond the minimum. Tell me about your room and your guests and I will take it from there.

Songwriting retreat, Crete 2027
A week by the sea on south Crete with Eva Hillered and me. You leave with five new songs, practical songwriting tools and a community of people who care about songwriting as much as you do.

Each day starts with a singing warm-up and a sharing circle, then lectures and writing exercises. The afternoons are free for writing alone or with a co-writer, and the evenings end in a feedback circle. The week closes with a rooftop concert.
A course in lyrics, melody, rhythm and chords. It is not a recording or production course.
